Sandy Henkin, Artist
Recognize that row of majestic brownstones, dazzling view from the promenade or sun drenched vista of the Italian countryside?
These are just a few of the subjects that have caught the attention of local artist, Sandy Henkin’s eye. Using oils, Ms. Henkin’s work ranges from the representational to the abstract. Her inspiration is as likely to come from her many travels abroad–where she often paints plein air– as it is from a stroll down her block in Brooklyn Heights.
She welcomes commissioned work and has the ability to transform memories into treasured paintings. Past commissions have included portraits, pets and family homes.
Ms. Henkin’s work has been exhibited at the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange and the Daphne Art Gallery.
Sandy Henkin lives and works in Brooklyn Heights and can often be found painting, indoors, at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, or outdoors, the world over.
